After conducting many polls with the people that matter the most- the audiences, the title of Imtiaz Ali's next film, produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision and starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor has been decided as JAB WE MET! Majority of the people have voted for that amongst four options namely Punjab Mail, Ishq via Bhatinda, Jab We Met and Audience Choice. Says director Imtiaz Ali, 'It's great that the junta has given us much needed inputs and I really like to thank them for their efforts!' The story of this film revolves around two strangers who meet in the train. Says Shahid Kapoor, 'This is the first real romantic story me and Kareena will be seen in.' ACCORDING to Director Imtiaz Ali, he SAYS that no filmmaker has managed to focus on the Shahid-Kareena’s chemistry... The Shahid-Kareena jodi hasn’t really clicked at the box-office so far. So what prompted you to cast them together in your next film? “I met Shahid and Kareena some time ago, and at that time I was not even discussing the film with them. And I noticed that they had tremendous chemistry, and I was totally mystified why it wasn’t working on screen.” Do you think you can capture their chemistry on screen? “There was absolutely no reason why it shouldn’t be possible. It struck me that all the films they had done so far had not focused on their relationship at all. They had either done thrillers or comedy.Shahid-Kareena have not been cast properly at all to showcase their obvious chemistry. That’s when I decided to take up the challenge.” What can the audience look forward to in your film with these two love birds? “Well, I’m trying to make a sensible film in the commercial space, because I don’t believe you have to be insensible to make a film for the masses – and I don’t want to embarrass myself by doing something just because it sells. I believe in making a good film, and I believe a good film which does not challenging your sensibility is completely possible – and if it works, then I will be completely vindicated.” We hear you’re asking the audience to decide on the title for this film? "The idea came from Shahid actually. All of us had different ideas about the title. We finally narrowed it down to three titles, but we couldn't cut it down to one title. So Shahid said, why don't we put it across to the audience and let them choose. So now it's going to be an actual contest and the title which gets the highest votes will win. The first title is Punjab Mail – it signifies a relationship between two strangers (Shahid and Kareena) who meet on a train to Punjab; the second title is Ishq Via Bhatinda – since Kareena's character Geeta is going to Bhatinda, and Shahid's character Aditya also ends up going there because of certain incidents; and the third title Jab We Met is a mix of Hindi-English words since the youth today speak a mix of these two languages, and the two main protagonists keep meeting again and again, sometimes accidentally, sometimes intentionally. VARIETY OF STYLE SHOWED IN CASH:

Anubhav Sinha releases his heist saga today -- CASH. Come to think of it, CASH is very similar to DUS. A plethora of stars, stunning locales/visuals, an energetic musical score and stylized action. CASH goes a step further -- it has animation too!Sinha has mastered the craft and garnishes CASH well, but as you begin to savor the taste, you realize that the recipe isn't perfect. Perhaps, writers Yash-Vinay had the right intentions of making a chor-sipahi kahani, but the writing is just not convincing. Where does the problem lie? Not with Anubhav Sinha, for the director is, without doubt, one of the most stylish narrators in Bollywood. The choice of subject is also right, but the writing lacks the meat to mesmerize the viewer. Clearly, the screenplay is the villain here!
To sum up, you expect a sangam of style and substance in CASH, but what you eventually get is style, style and only style! CASH is a thriller set in Cape Town, South Africa. The film revolves around an ace con artist [Ajay Devgan], who hires a set of topnotch robbers [Esha Deol, Zayed Khan, Dia Mirza and Ritesh Deshmukh] to steal a set of priceless diamonds in South Africa. The group also faces a threat from underworld don [Suniel Shetty], who is after the same diamonds and also the Head of Security [Shamita Shetty]. How these three groups manage to thwart each other forms the rest of the story. CASH bears an uncanny resemblance to some films. The concept of a guy hiring professionals to execute a plan brings back memories of SHOLAY. There's an uncanny resemblance with DHOOM 2 as far as the stylish stunts are concerned. Also, a number of individuals wanting to lay their hands on the priceless diamonds take you to SHALIMAR. . What you take back as a viewer is only style. The writing is unenergetic in the first hour, but the second hour, you've to admit, is far more absorbing. The marked currency notes and also the chase by the cops [Ritesh, Esha, with Zayed atop the speeding car] are pulse-pounding. If Sinha deserves brownie points for making a visually enticing movie, all you want to remind him is that the viewer wants to listen to an absorbing story at the end of the day. Anthony Stone's stunts are topnotch. A never-seen-before experience on the Hindi screen. Vishal-Shekhar's music is trendy and the visuals and choreography supporting the tracks make you exclaim 'Wow'. Ravi Walia's cinematography is mesmeric. The film bears a striking look all through. Dialogues are well-worded at times. Ajay Devgan is not in form this time around. He looks unenergetic… something is missing! Suniel Shetty gets to play a role he has visited a few times in the past. Zayed Khan is strictly okay. The real scene stealer is Ritesh Deshmukh. Very confident and easy-going, he's sure to walk away with ceetees and taalis. Shamita Shetty stands out. Esha suffers due to sketchy characterization. Also, her make-up makes her face look hard. Dia is far more appealing and enacts her part well. Ayesha Takia adds to the star-value. On the whole, CASH has style, but rests on a thin plot and that is its biggest flaw. At the box-office, the film might attract the audience in its initial weekend, but a weak script will throw a spanner.

HRITHIK NOT DOING A HOLLYWOOD PROJECT:

The latest news of Vishal Bhardwaj’s international project with Hrithik Roshan and a leading lady from Hollywood? is “Hrithik isn’t doing the film anymore. The role isn’t substantial enough, that’s one of the reasons,” Vishal informs us. What about the leading lady? Reportedly, the fee quoted by her agents was almost 70% of the film’s budget? “No, we didn’t talk money. Actually, we never reached that stage,” Vishal reveals, “We merely had discussions and more discussions.” So what is he making now? “I haven’t zeroed on any script. It sounds strange, but when I plan something, it never materializes. For instance, I was supposed to direct MANTRA for Shekhar Kapur, but it never took off. Or TIMBAKTOO, but it never got made. And MR. MEHTA & MRS. SINGH, but it got aborted. All I know is that I want to start something before December this year,” he states with utmost honesty.

SANJAY DUTT IN JAIL FOR 6 YRS:

Hindi film industry's Superstar Sanjay Dutt known for his BRILLIANT performance in’Munna Bhai’ & ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ and many more, was always travelling from home to court room until his final verdict was declared today, where the judge sentenced him for 6 year imprisonment.
Dutt who was accused under arms act illegal possession of weapons, was facing the probability of 5 years to 10 years in jail.
Already spent 16 months in jail as an under trail in 1994, Sanjay Dutt was almost in tears when the judge pronounced the verdict today.
The judge also said Dutt had committed a series of offences and that he was mature when he committed them.
The film industry has gone silent in bitter astonishment towards the verdict, since stakes are high on Munnabhai.The main thing is after spending 16 months in jail in1994 sanjay dutt has become a good citizen he has held many charity shows , he use to always support his co-stars, down to earth person .It looks like goverment is not satisfied seeing him as a free person , as a good civilian , in all these years he had never harmed anybody then why NOW?? they have charged him imprisonment

Priyanka's latest role of protecting Abhishek Bachchan in Drona , we wonder if she’s turning into the Indian version of Lara Croft.while according to her “ it's not a Lara Croft kind of character”. “It is something that has been derived from Indian mythology, so it is a very interesting concept. It is an action-oriented character and I play Abhishek Bachchan’s bodyguard in the film.” She has trained herself to play the part of the bodyguard. “I learnt a Sikh form of martial arts which is called Gatka . I’ve practiced for about three to four weeks. It is a defence mechanism – using a chakra – it’s mostly based on defence tactics,” . With action being the new buzz word in her life, was she also doing stunts in Love Story 2050 with Harman Baweja? “Not at all. That’s a love story, not an action film. And the action is Harman’s forte, not mine,” she says. And how’s the film shaping up? “It’s shaping up pretty well. It’s looking good so far. It has some great music, and I’m hoping for the best from this film,” says the actress. Strangely, there’s been a lot of confusion about the films Priyanka has signed up of late. Was she doing Rajkumar Santoshi’s Halla Bol or Feroz Khan’s remake of Qurbani ? “I’m not doing Halla Bol at all,” says Priyanka, not at all amused by the rumours. “nor Qurbani .” What about Santoshi’s London Dreams ? “I don’t know what’s happening with that film. I haven’t signed it as yet. We did have initial talks about it but after that nobody got back to me.” Was she deliberately staying away from Hollywood films at a time when every actress was looking Westward? FUN WITH CORN:

Ingredients
Two cups of fresh corn - Boiled till tender and then drained
2 Tomatoes, finely chopped
1 cup of finely cut spring onions
1 green bell pepper, de-seeded and chopped
Four to five spinach leaves, washed and rinsed
1 tablespoon of vinegar
1 teaspoon of pepper
1 tablespoon of olive or salad oil
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt to taste
Finely cut coriander for garnishing
Preparation
In a large bowl, mix vinegar, oil, pepper and garlic. Add corn, spring onions, tomatoes, and bell pepper. Add salt to taste. Toss well. Keep chilled for about three hours. Just before serving, arrange the spinach leaves in a large glass bowl. Pour corn salad into it and serve garnished with either parsley or coriander leaves.

Imaginative tabloids of Mumbai have been waiting eager to see a delay in the release of Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodha-Akbar. In fact when contacted after the report of most recent 'accident', Hrithik categorically said he had never suffered any accident during the shooting of Jodha-Akbar. But then the naysayers writers din't believe of the quick- fix method of news-making. Hence last week there was again a report that the release of Jodhaa-Akbar has been postponed. "Not again! These rumours are not true at all. We had locked in on October 12 as the release date since it coincides with Eid when audiences swamp to the theatres. We've to be stupid or careless to let go of such a coveted date." So where does Ashutosh think these delay rumours are coming from? "Beats me! Probably because I've one song and one scene left to shoot, some people might be jumping to the wrong conclusions. But October 12 was, and is the release date for Jodhaa-Akbar."
